Practice everyday negotiation

People treat negotiation like it's reserved for hostage scenes or car dealerships. It's not. It's your salary review, a deadline with a stakeholder, a refund, a rent renewal — small, frequent, high-leverage.

TalkCraft drills the low-drama version: trade-offs, anchoring, giving the other person a clean way to say yes.

Conversations this covers

  • Asking for a raise without sounding entitled or apologetic
  • Pushing back on a deadline without becoming 'the difficult one'
  • Negotiating scope with a stakeholder mid-project
  • Getting a refund without turning it into a fight
  • Renewing rent without accepting the first number
  • Agreeing a split on a household expense

What the app actually does

  • Everyday Negotiation course: scenarios for salary, deadlines, refunds, scope.
  • Choices are grouped by style — collaborative, firm, anchoring, trade-off.
  • Coach notes explain why a reply keeps the conversation moving or kills it.
  • Short sessions. Nothing leaves your phone.

The boring move that outperforms cleverness

Most negotiations don't need a clever reframe. They need a clean menu: two real options, the trade-offs named, and a question that forces a decision. The app gives you reps at that specific move, across lots of different situations.

The three mistakes that cost the most money

Leading with your walk-away number, which turns a conversation into a yes/no vote. Justifying your ask with a long story — the story becomes the thing the other side argues with, not your ask. And accepting the first counter because it feels polite; first counters are almost never the best available deal. The drills train the opposite habit: quiet anchor, short reason, two real options, one clear question.

Scripts you'll actually use

A raise ask: 'Based on scope X and market Y, I think the right number is Z. What would it take to get there this cycle?' A deadline push-back: 'We can hit Friday with A and B, or all three by Wednesday next week — which do you want?' A refund: 'This didn't match what was described. I'd like a refund, or a replacement shipped today.' Each one gives the other side a real choice instead of a fight.
