Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-16
This policy explains what information TalkCraft handles, and why. It applies to the TalkCraft mobile app and to this website (https://talkcraft.app).
- The app runs offline after install. Your practice doesn’t leave your phone.
- No account, no login, no sync, no ads, no analytics.
- If you buy Premium, Apple or Google processes the payment and we use a service called RevenueCat to verify the subscription.
- The website uses only essential cookies. No trackers are loaded today.
Who we are
TalkCraft is the publisher of the TalkCraft iOS app and this website. You can reach us at [email protected], or for privacy-specific questions, [email protected].
What the app stores on your device
The TalkCraft app keeps everything locally in a database on your phone. That includes:
- Course content bundled with the app.
- Your learning progress: quiz attempts, scenario outcomes, review schedule, streaks, XP, and levels.
- Daily-goal state and daily free-tier usage counters.
- App settings (display name, session length, haptics/feedback preferences, theme).
None of this is transmitted off your device. If you delete the app, it goes with it. You can also wipe your progress at any time from Profile → Reset all progress.
What leaves your device
The app needs the internet only for three things: downloading the app, buying Premium, and restoring a previous purchase.
- The App Store / Google Play handles the download and the billing. Your purchase receipt is processed under Apple’s or Google’s privacy terms, not ours.
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) checks the receipt on our behalf and tells the app whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous install identifier generated on your device, the product you purchased, and the receipt. We don’t send your name, email, or any practice data to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
That’s the full list. There is no backend of our own. We don’t run any analytics, crash reporting, A/B testing, push notifications, AI inference, advertising, or third-party SDKs beyond what’s named above.
Device permissions
The app doesn’t ask for microphone, camera, contacts, photos, location, or tracking permissions. If iOS or Android asks you to allow something, it’s a system prompt (for example, for an in-app purchase confirmation), not a data collection request from us.
What the website collects
The marketing site at https://talkcraft.app serves static pages. It sets a small record in your browser’s local storage to remember your cookie-banner choice. No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are loaded today. If that changes, we’ll only load them after you opt in. See the Cookies page for details.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Deliver and run the app and website.
- Confirm your Premium entitlement so the paid features unlock.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
We don’t sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles of you.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If you’re in the EEA or the UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: performance of a contract (running the app, processing your purchase), and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and answering your messages.
Retention
Data you generate in the app sits on your device until you remove it, either by resetting progress in the app or by deleting the app. Subscription records held by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google follow their own retention policies.
International transfers
RevenueCat, Apple, and Google may process subscription data in countries outside your own, including the United States. They maintain their own data-transfer safeguards, linked from their privacy notices.
Children
TalkCraft isn’t designed for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that creates a concern, contact us and we’ll help.
Your rights and choices
Because we don’t hold personal data about you on our servers, most privacy rights apply in a limited way here:
- To delete your in-app data, use Profile → Reset all progress, or uninstall the app.
- To cancel or refund a subscription, use Apple’s or Google’s subscription management — see the Support page.
- For access, correction, or deletion requests about information held by RevenueCat, Apple, or Google, contact them directly — they’re the controllers for that data. You can also contact us at [email protected] and we’ll help route the request.
- If you’re in a U.S. state with a consumer privacy law (California, Colorado, and others), you can use the same email for rights requests. We’ll respond within the time required by the applicable law.
- You always have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
App data lives inside your device’s sandboxed storage, protected by the same mechanisms iOS and Android use for other apps on your phone. Network traffic to RevenueCat and the app stores uses TLS. We don’t run our own servers that hold your data.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, if the change is significant, mention it in the app release notes.
